The document contains hand-drawn draft designs and descriptions for a music application called Tempo. It discusses features like allowing users to access music without WiFi or data charges, see where friends are listening to music on a map, and set timer features to stop playback. Legal and ethical issues regarding data protection, accessibility, and terms of use are also addressed. The target audience is described as people aged 18-25 who want easy music access across devices. Color schemes and a synced music sharing feature between friends are also detailed.
3. Hand Drawn Drafts
These are my hand drawn drafts and I used them in order to
visualize what my application and website would like. After
exploring other ideas I have changed dramatic parts of the
homepage specifically to make it appeal to the target audience. I
am primarily focused on the application as Tempo will be a school
application.

7. When designing and creating this application I thought about common problems that me and my friends
face when in lessons and within the school grounds. One of these problems was listening to music with
mobile data or paying a monthly contract. An example of this would be Spotify which provides unlimited
use of features while listening to songs, the only problem is that the user has to pay a monthly contract in
order to access these features at any time. Ultimately, my application allows similar features to by accessed
without the requirement of Wi-Fi or having to pay a monthly contract. With this in mind the user will be
able to have unlimited access to features when listening to music without having to worry about using data
or paying money to the company before hand.
The Font style that I have chosen is “Lemon Milk” and the reason for this is because I believe that it is
simple and best suites the target audience witch is secondary school students.
The scheme that I went with is red and black and this is because I think that it includes a great contrast
that appeals to the target audience the best.
One key and interesting feature is being able to see where friends are in the real world and to be able to
contact them and discover what music they are listening to. This will be be done by the user being able to
see a life-like map of the world and when ever another user (friend) is using the application the user will be
able to see where that user is and what kind music they are listening to.
Purpose for “Tempo.”
10. • Copyright law: has been set up in order to protect creators and their work. Ant content that I not
protected by this copyright can be used by anyone without the authors consent. Content that is
copyright protected can prevent others from using their work without their permission, otherwise
the people have to comply with eligible prosecutions if caught.
The 1998 Law have now made that all original content made by the creator should be protected by
copy right if someone was to use it without their permission. By doing so the users cannot claim the
authors work or righteous money.
• The Data Protection act controls how peoples personal information is used by other organizations
and these organization have to keep under strict rules in order to keep the information safe and
secure. By doing so the information can be kept maintained and compromised by others. If the
organizations don’t stay to these rules they can receive costly fines as a penalty.
• Ethical issues: In order for the application and website to be successful in schools I would need to
have all the information and history of the user to be kept safe and secure for the individual. It
would be very important to have the regulations for the user updated with knowledge.
• The General Data Protection Regulation is designed to allow users of the application to easily
access better controls of their personal data. By doing this they have the authority to issue penalties
greater than £10 million if the rules are broken for an individuals account.
Legal and Ethical issues
11. • The W3C Guidelines and accessibility allow easy access for individuals
accounts who are disabled.
• W3C do this through 4 main guiding principles which include:
• Operable
• Perceivable
• Understandable
• Robust
• The Web and Standards Project (WaSP): reduce the cost of development
while increasing the amount of accessibility to any site published on the
web. Allows consistency through web pages to remain accessible and open. If
these technologies were fully supported, designers and developers, would be
able to create functionality on web pages far beyond any other web browsers
capabilities.

Data:
• The application and website will be provided with certain data that concerns
students, teachers and parents. The school shall: provide Tempo with the non-
exclusive and non-transferable access to the students, teachers or parents data
by providing the main access through the schools database for the term of this
agreement.
• The school warrants include the permissions necessary for the rights to transfer
Student, teacher or Parent data to Tempo.
In order to go about using the application “Tempo” it is important to read and consider, when
signing up/registering, all of the terms and conditioned that apply to the application. These will
be provided to you in English. You agree that any and all use of the application shall constitute
your acceptance to the terms and conditions of this application.
If you do not agree with the terms and conditions then please avoid usage of Tempo.
Terms & conditions
• This terms of use agreement is a legal agreement between the person,
school, local authority or any other education provider named in the
registration.
13. • Target audience: will be people aged from 18 – 25 who enjoy listening to music
and want a easy way to access their music without using Wi-Fi or mobile data.
• Convergence access ability: mobile, apple watches and Desktop application
allowing all users to easily listen to music using multiple devices.
• Colour scheme: The colours that I have chosen to use are shades of grey, white
and red. These colours provide a great contrast helping to guide the user to each
feature and the shades of red provide a soft coloration unlike any harsh colours.
• Applications features: The application “Tempo” will have a timer that allows the
user to set a specific time such as 10:00pm and the application will stop playing
music and save the phones battery. This will be best suited for users who love to
sleep while listening to music but don’t want their phone battery to be drained.
• Synergy: all songs that have been listened to by the user can be shared with
friends on the same application, helping both users to interact with each other
and keep up to date with the latest music.
Tempo – personal assistance for music
14. Conclusion
• Throughout the Unit 35 I have produced two social media
applications, one being Tempo – personal assistant for
music (my chosen application) and one being Pulse with a
global map allowing the users to interact with friends
and music.
• Overall unit 35 has definitely been one of my favorite
units to work on. I strongly believe that Tempo should be
made practical allowing students at school to listen to
music easily without using data.
