Introduction
In this paper I seek to learn more about issues affecting Panama, I think it actually may not be
many but it is good to learn new things, whenever I do an investigation, I find many things I did
not know and therefore I think this is a very good topic to investigate as many people think the
only problem is the pollution in Panama and is not, there are many more problems that youth do
not know and I think they should know.
Corruption
• Corruption exists at all levels of the state; influence peddling, bids with higher
prices, the management of the Assembly of Deputies by the president.
• In Panama there are different types of corruptions like the cops who take money,
schools, hospitals and in different places
Crime
• Crime, with its high increase in drug killings, drug trafficking and common crime
with new rules brought by immigrants.
• Crimes have increased in recent years, panama is no longer safe as before, the
majority of people who die from crime are victims, others are for drug trafficking
and the vast majority being in gangs.
Education
• Education does not have a coherent national education policy or a specific
curriculum.
• Education in panama had improved for the scholarships, teacher change and new
methodologies they were using but still bullying by students and teachers to
students, in addition to not having a good planning study.
Garbage
• The garbage problem nationwide, not properly collected or treated waste.
I think the problem of garbage collection in panama is because not collected on time and
when the pick is not everything and many people leave in the first place to find, I think to
solve this problem should be more garbage trucks circulating and people should be more
aware and not leave garbage by either party if not in its proper place.
Transportation
• Transportation continues to be a problem across the nation, the lack of roads and
the same transportation planning.
• Transportation in panama is not good, we had to start so-called Red Devils and
replaced by famous metrobuses, metrobuses not do their job properly and take too
long to get to the stops, are also famous pirates busitos but the government no
longer want to circulate.
Poverty
• Poverty remains one of the biggest problems in Panama by poor distribution of
wealth, this poor distribution becomes apparent the problem of housing and causes
this problem have in other like drug addiction, domestic violence, illiteracy, and
other.
• The largest cases of poverty in Panama are due to poor distribution of wealth,
panama is a very rich country but there are many investments, and the product of
these investments, their earnings do not reach the masses.
Health
• Health is everyone's problem because hospitals are not in good condition or with
appropriate equipment, doctors no longer an little humans and secondly the increase
caused by rodents, mosquitoes and other diseases that are believed eradicated in
Panama.
Addiction to social network
• Addiction to social networking is starting to be a problem by the increase in new
technologies to Panama because they are not taught the proper use of these youth
in school and at home.
Solutions that can be implemented
• With better leaders and a better distribution of wealth is could solve all these
problems.
• The government of President Ricardo Martinelli was not what we expected, if there
were improvements but expected better things, I followed the garbage problem,
crime, health and all those problems continued but changed ministers, heads and
other things; citizenship we also have to do our part for all these changes can be
made.
• I hope that the government of Juan Carlos Varela everything changes and we can
solve all these problems and more.
Pollution in Panama
• The major causes of pollution in Panama's because of us humans since we threw
away anywhere, using sprays, mismanagement of chemicals in factories and mines
that pollute water, toxic gases thrown by cars, trucks or other, logging creates
deforestation, burning, drainage or sewage contaminated sea or rivers, among
others.
Most polluted places in Panama
• Patacon hill, Petaquilla mine, the Rio La Villa (Los Santos), Transistmica and San
Miguelito district by increasing carbon in the air, Matasnillo river and the Bay of
Panama, the Curundú, Juan Diaz, Tocumen river, and now the Resume, the Pedasi
river in the province of Los Santos, among others.
Recommendation to be taken to implement
• Some actions are performed in large cities such as restricting traffic to create
pedestrian zones or encourage the use of electric cars. Encourage businesses and
governments from the system clean and renewable energy such as wind, solar or
geothermal sources.
• Publicize and disseminate the causes pollution of soil, water and air helps reduce
the damage they cause to the environment. Note that many of these causes can be
avoided fighting social injustice that exists in many poor countries and disinterest
of the authorities in solving pollution and lack of access to water.
• Harmonize progress and technological progress and population growth without
harming the environment is everyone's job and others.

Conclusion
I loved making this investigation because I understood that Panama has many more
problems than I thought, actually to blame for many of the problems of Panama we have
citizenship as we have no consciousness, but part also lies with the government that has no
exact laws or a specific planning. Thank’s teacher for this work ourselves.
