7. WHY CLEAN INDOOR AIR QUALITY – (IAQ)
Currently we are living in a situation where the whole world is battling against virus SARS-COV 2, a virus
which cannot be controlled. As humans we have to hide safe in our homes without going out, without engaging
in our carriers to be safe from this virus. However, for how long can we hide, for a day, month, year or a decade
a question which cannot be answered even by the experts in the medical and microbiological field, Therefore
we need to find a method to move forward with this virus making ourselves safe. This is where the Bipolar
Ionization technology comes into scenario, an air purifying method, disinfecting from all the air borne
pathogens at the same time being nonhazardous to human beings.
Currently there are various methods to disinfect the indoor air without the presence of human beings, as it is
toxic for the humans as well. Using those methods you can disinfect a room before entering it, suppose an office
room, you will enter into a thoroughly disinfected office room which is completely free of viruses and bacteria.
But what if after entering in to the room the pathogen (virus) was carried in side unknowingly by a new comer,
then that previous disinfection will be fruitless. That’s why we need a technology which can be used twenty
four seven hours to disinfect the indoor air in the presence of human beings.
Bipolar Ionization technology is the perfect technology to disinfect indoor air 24 x 7 producing crisp clean
safe air, while people being exposed into it harmlessly.
WHAT IS BIPOLAR IONIZATION?
Bipolar ionization is a process in which the conversion of gas molecules into ions is effected by the aid of high
energy sources. The decomposition of a molecule into ions is accompanied by the generation of free electrons.
A molecule with a free electron attached to it is called a negative ion, while a molecule lacking an electron is
called a positive ion.
This is a natural phenomenon which occurs in several places in the nature such as in sea beaches, near waterfalls
and on the top of the mountains. The clean crisp nature of the air any one can experience in those places is due
to the bipolar ionization which naturally occurs there. In some literature this is being named as bipolar plasma
technology, as the air when gets saturated from the ionized molecules is turn into the state called as a plasma.
While producing ionized air molecules, the technology has been optimized to only produce plus and minus
charged oxygen molecules as occurs in the nature. Therefor there is no risk of getting exposed into other types
of ionized air molecules.
MECHANISM OF ACTION AGAINST AIR BORN PATHOGENS
When plus and minus charged oxygen molecules released into the air through bipolar ionization those
molecules along with water vapours in the air surrounds the air borne pathogens. Then the plus charged oxygen
molecules reacts with water vapours and produce hydrogen peroxide, these hydrogen peroxide again reacting
with minus charged oxygen molecules produce hydroxyl radicals which is also called as natures disinfectant.
These hydroxyl radicals’ attacks the outer surface structures of pathogens such as protein molecules and
deactivate those pathogens by destroying its outer surface structures. This was done by hydroxyl radicals
extracting a H+ ion from the pathogen’s outer surface molecules. And as a results of that a water molecule is
being released into the air.
