2. From the start of the project we already had our mind set on using the genre of hip-
hop/rap as it was all our favorite genre of music. We had three potential songs that we
all came to an agreement with, which was either Travis Scott- butterfly effect, Kendrick
Lamar – loyalty or 21 Savage – Bank account.
When Studying more into the songs we looked into the lyrics to see how we could
connect the context of the song into the music video.
From this we eliminated the song Bank account as the lyrics were more complicated
and there wasn’t much change in the rhyme and tempo. This then left us with
Butterfly effect or Loyalty, which we finally agreed on Butterfly effect.
The reason we didn't’t chose Loyalty was because we struggled to come to a decision
on the creative vision, un like Butterfly effect which we made a connection when
creating the story line.

When looking at the lyrics, its apparent it is
about a female love interest. The song is
reportedly about his current girlfriend Kylie
Jenner which he makes a small reference
“hidden hills, deep off in the main” which is
the upscale neighborhood in Los Angeles
home to his girlfriend kylie Jenner
Though we know as M&M’s chocolate they also
double as slang for MDMA. The term comes
from Ecstasy’s resemblance to candy. This part of
the song helped mold our idea of having
different themed girls , one including the Candy
girl.
“jump straight to the lake, take a sip” This
formed the idea of using a swimming pool and
the next theme of Aqua girl.

The Rolls-Royce Phantom is a luxurious car that is
popular among among hip hop artists. The song is
mainly about the use of drugs, car, girls and hanging
with his friends to which he calls “All the dogs”.
For our video the lyrics “hit up green lantern” in other
terms smoking weed, we wanted another theme to be
the galaxy chick, which links to this trippy/high effect
experienced when smoking weed.
Really the song highlights this hip-hop lifestyle and his
raise to frame and the concepts that come with it.
