Subject: What we’ve learned this semester
The purpose of this memo is to show what we have learned in this British Literature
course at Clemson University. It will also show how we have progressed as a team
throughout the Fall Semester 2015.
In the beginning of this course, we all came in not knowing much about British Literature
or British history. Through the use of packets and team projects, we have grown together
and obtained more knowledge about close readings, analyzing literature, and the cultural
and historical backgrounds of the different time periods we worked with. Along with this,
we learned how to integrate technology into our learning, and we learned about many
different formats for projects that could be used in future classes. We also learned how to
work as a team, and the benefits of a Google Doc and group text. The projects we created
show that we learned how British literature had evolved from the medieval period to the
18th century. We were able to synthesize our group information into cohesive projects.
Wix was a really helpful website and all of us will probably use it in the future at some
point, and having to write in MLA format was good practice for the future and other
courses. This course was confusing at times because expectations were unclear and
proper formatting was not explained until after projects were do and so we had to edit
projects after they were finished.
Overall, this course has allowed our relationships with literature to grow. We learned
how to analyze and use technology in our education. The work we have done will
hopefully help us in the future and other course. We were able to accomplish the four
main goals of this course and had a lot of fun doing it!
