A music video is a short film that accompanies the
music. There are three types of music videos:
performance, narrative and concept.
Performances
A Performance type video uses the least amount
of budget to create. Throughout a performance
type video features the band members, artist, and
a group performing for the whole video or most of

Narrative
A narrative video links with the song’s lyrics. The
video that plays usually attempts to tell us a story.

However some narrative music videos uses film
footage as the song is featured in the actual film, this
promotes the film itself as well as the song.

Concept
A concept type video is based on one single idea.
Concept videos are usually random; some have no
relevance to the actual song and some do. Unrealistic
elements are also usually shown in the video. Here is

Hybrid
Some music videos may combine
the music video types such as
performance and concept.
