  1. In addition to running a boutique digital marketing agency in NYC--Media Volery--I also advise and train PR, crisis management, and creative agencies. Not just social media, but also other digital marketing best practices.
  2. How should marketing agencies use social media? Four pillars: Hold up your clients (not just your client work) Let your team shine Tell the story of your values Build your business by showcasing your thought leadership How do we go beyond these basics so we can concentrate on generating leads?
  3. Not just guidelines, but training on using social media in their roles (from account side to creative). Not about limiting them, but about helping them get more out of their digital presence.
  4. It gives them the benefit of being optimized. It helps their careers in the longer term. It helps you with compliance in terms of using terminology and language that represents your brand. Conduct peer reviews of each others’ digital presences or do a workshop.
  5. Makes content more trackable. You might have a super networker in your midst.
  6. Use social media as a place to provide tools and feedback. Direct them. Account-based marketing: send people content through LinkedIn or email that you think they’d like
  7. Let them self-diagnose problems; opens up conversation
  8. Be more highly relevant. Retarget in paid social.
  9. Empower your influencers (friends of the company) to share your content
  10. Content should include: Explainer content (CoSchedule) Podcasts (DCI) Video (our video series)
