Identifying and Raising a Requisition for a
Vacancy

Overview
• You define budgets to reveal the head count
requirements within your enterprise
• Requisitions are then raised for the positions that
you require
• Authorization may be needed to maintain a head
count or actually when you identify a vacancy
• Oracle HRMS enables you to record and use the
information that you need to raise a requisition
• The authorized vacancy list is clear and up-to-date
at all times

Questions to Ask
• Once vacancies have been identified it is
important to establish:
– How many people are needed?
– What department needs them?
– Are any special skills required for these
workers?
– How soon are the workers needed?
• Collate all the information regarding the
vacancies; this forms the basis of the requisition
to raise for the vacancies.

• You use the Requisition and Vacancy window to
record requisitions, vacancies, and openings
• A requisition can be for one or more vacancies
• A vacancy can have one or more openings
