2.  It is a person’s account of an event or situation to show that
something is true.
 It serves a purpose in persuasion as the personal account
helps readers identify with the writer and shows the
writer’s personal connection to the topic/issue.
 It taps into the person’s vast knowledge/skills in a
particular subject and can be used to support thesis
statement.
 There are 2 types of testimonies :
• Expert testimonies
• Personal testimonies

• To make it more persuasive
• To reduce doubts and suspicions
• To assure them that our stand has its support and is
reliable.
• To attract their attention and let them continue reading.

4.  Expert testimonies
- An account from someone who is known as an expert in
field work.
- It can be the opinions and experiences of a professional or
a person whom the reader can relate to
 Personal testimonies
- Based on own experiences.
- Offer ourselves as proof and this has considerable
persuasive power
 Do not make false testimonies unless it is logical and
reasonable.
 Try giving the testimony opinions that strongly support
the thesis statement
