Old and young history of gaming companies. Some companies like Ubisoft (1986 France) have been active in the gaming market since the 80s and 90s. Some companies like Gameforge (2003 Germany) and Gamigo got huge in the rise of Browsergames and are now switching to mobile and crossplatfrom and other companies are very young and came out of nothing like supercell (2010 Finland) and Wooga (2009 Germany) who started in social media and switched successful in mobile gaming.
Game revenues made in Western Europe in 2014 are 15.4 billion dollar. These types of games can range from smaller mobile games, to indie games, to giant triple A video games you buy for your PC or console.MEA only total of 1.4 billion dollar
I will concentrate more of the mobile market since mobile gaming is with no doubt the future of the gaming industry
According to Newzoo mobile gaming in western europe we have 129 milion players with 43 million payers making a total revenue of 3,2 billion dollar in 2014.
MEA has 105 million players with 32 million payers making only a total revenue of 380 million dollar.
The ARPU is the huge difference.
No other region comes close to Latin America in terms of growth potential. LATAM can be compared to the US market. Th KPI´s are similiar in both regions. Low risk of testing. Not much content to adept (localization)
Not many competitors like in US and Europe. Which brings me to the next topic. What doyou need to be successful in MENA region.
What about the quality of the Games which are developed in MENA. Can they compete whit european and US standards?
In Europe there are so many copy clones and more games are getting published daily into the market. (500 new apps per day) There are a few that are making huge revenues. In my Opinion the market is oversaturated.
Cost per Loyal User = a User that open the App at least 3 times before installing.
Therefore the marketing spends are rising and the CPI/CPM/CPA costs are rising rapidly the last few years. We are looking for better conversions and new ways to market. Like social channel marketing (Youtube lets player)How do you market a game in Mena, is there still the chance to go with organic growth in virality. Good game = Success without spending any marketing budgets? How is the situation in MENA.
European Gaming companies start to expand in to other terretories like NA, Asia, Brazil. But MENA isnt an option yet. Also MENA doesn’t do any Business with the Outside World! Is that the North Korean Kim Jung Un strategy? Nothing gets in nothing gets out tactic? Probably do more Business and generate more revenues in the South Pole Region!!! Why is that? Whats wrong? Or Do you know something that I don’t.
