11. TERROIR OVERVIEW of ALTO MAIPO
CLIMATE is fresh to fresh-warm Andean climate. Important thermic
oscillation. Long growing cycle, few rains in the growing season

great terroirs are older terraces
As in the left bank (same geological system), wines used to be
Cabernet Sauvignon blends, sometimes with Carmenere, Cabernet
Franc, Merlot or Syrah
One of the oldest and FAMOUS Chilean wine regions. Top terroir
12.

Very high drainage.
20. The Heart of Carmín de Peumo
This wine can be considered the first Icon Carmenere
CLIMATE: Warm valley climate with fresh nights
SOIL: Colluvial-Alluvial from a mix of three different

Cachapoal River
Terroir shows a big heterogeneity, some soils have a water
table

Sauvignon from Alto Maipo and Cabernet Franc
Total production is about 1,200 cases

Andes’ high altitude climate

Sandy alluvial-colluvial and geological intrusive yellow
