2. This is one of the key scenes in Halloween, as you can see the
final girl being targeted by Michael Myers the protagonist. It
shows the facial expressions of the final girl being frightened.
Whilst Michael Myers looks like he wants to kill the final
girl, as there is a connotation that final girls are normally
virgins.
3. This is footage of Michael Myers earlier on in the film.
This is a shot that is taken in midday . Even though this
shot is intended to introduce the killer, the audience
know that no action is going to take place, as a common
horror film convention would be that everything
happens in the dark so its more scary.
4. This is a vital piece of the film as it just shows the level
that Michael Myers is at. This is positioned so it seems
like the audience themselves are in the frame and
looking towards him. This screen shot just connotes
various things such as Michael Myers being powerful
and being prepared to take out the final girl.
5. This screen shot gives us where the action is
going to be set in, with it being a horror
movie it always seems to be set in a detached
middle class house and also normally in a
quite area.
6. This is a shot from the flashback of Michael
Myers, which is incorporated at the very
beginning of the play, this foreshadows what will
occur during the film. This shot always establishes
what weapon he uses (a knife) which could also
be linked to the phallic symbol.
