How did they become interested in
               animation?
Ladislaw Starewicz created the first puppet
                    animation.
       What was their background?
Starewicz began making 3-d stop motion animated
films (puppet films, as he called them) in 1910
and continued creating them until his death. His
films, although emotionally aimed at children, are
what we today would seem "strange" because of
the often grotesque *(A very ugly or comically
             distorted figure or creature).
Here is a clip of his Animation
Short clip of Ladislaw Starewicz Animation – The
  cameraman’s Revenge: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vIC0Sb6pLvI
                 About the Animation
   The Cameraman's Revenge (1912, 13 minutes) is
about infidelity *(The action of being unfaithful to a
partner) among the insects, a topic which has
             never been attempted on film.
Things we liked about the Animation:
• That the characters were insects – very creative
• That they used music and no speech to tell the story
• It had a old fashion quality
• It was entertaining
• Change of scenes were clear enough to understand

                      Would improve:
Quality - Use of scenery - Long Introduction
Why their work is relevant today?
• Observations of how puppet animation could
  be improved in the future
• Unique and different
• Entertaining to watch
