2. The Bible: An Overview
The report
overviews the
needs of the
church and
ministry.
3. The Bible
A fact and reality:
All the believers devoted
themselves to the apostles’
teaching, and to fellowship,
and to sharing in meals
(including the Lord’s Supper),
and to prayer. (Acts 2:42)
4. The Bible
Important verse: 2 John 9
9 Anyone who wanders away
from this teaching has no
relationship with God. But
anyone who remains in the
teaching of Christ has a
relationship with both the
Father and the Son.
5. The Bible
Preaching in the church: 2 Timothy 4:1-2
1 I solemnly urge you in the
presence of God and Christ Jesus,
who will someday judge the living
and the dead when he appears to
set up his Kingdom.
2 Preach the word of God. Be
prepared, whether the time is
favorable or not. Patiently correct,
rebuke, and encourage your people
with good teaching.
7. The Bible
Fellowship in the church:1 Corinthians 16:1-2
Giving/Sharing
1 Now regarding your question about
the money being collected for God’s
people in Jerusalem. You should
follow the same procedure I gave to
the churches in Galatia.
2 On the first day of each week, you
should each put aside a portion of
the money you have earned. Don’t
wait until I get there and then try to
collect it all at once.
8. The Bible
Communion in the church: Acts 20:7
On the first day of the week,
we gathered with the local
believers to share in the
Lord’s Supper. Paul was
preaching to them, and since
he was leaving the next day,
he kept talking until midnight.

10. The Bible
Prayer in the church: Acts 4:31
After this prayer, the meeting
place shook, and they were all
Text
filled with the Holy Spirit. Then
they preached the word of God
with boldness.
13. Warning: 1 Corinthians 11:27-30
• 27 So anyone who eats this bread or
drinks this cup of the Lord unworthily is
guilty of sinning against the body and
blood of the Lord.
• 28 That is why you should examine
yourself before eating the bread and
drinking the cup.
• 29 For if you eat the bread or drink the
cup without honoring the body of Christ,
you are eating and drinking God’s
judgment upon yourself.
• 30 That is why many of you are weak and
sick and some have even died.
14. Celebrating the Lord’s Supper
1 Corinthians 11:23-24
•23 For I pass on to you what I
received from the Lord himself.
On the night when he was
betrayed, the Lord Jesus took
some bread.
•24 and gave thanks to God for it.
Then he broke it in pieces and
said, “This is my body, which is
given for you. Do this to
remember me.”
15. 1 Corinthians 11:25-26
•25 In the same way, he took the
cup of wine after supper, saying,
“This cup is the new covenant
between God and his people—an
agreement confirmed with my
blood. Do this to remember me as
often as you drink it.”
•26 For every time you eat this
bread and drink this cup, you are
announcing the Lord’s death until
he comes again.
