Researched

Ender’s
Game
cover
designs
for
to
find
themes
and
begin
to
develop
an
idea
of
what
she
was
designing.
Began
looking
elsewhere
to
find
inspiration
that
would
help
in
creating
a
more
modern
and
original
idea,
she
presented
this
as
mood
board.
Sketched
a
large
number
of
initial
ideas,
a
brainstorming
method
that
helps
give
a
rough
idea
of
what
might
work
and
what
wont.
After
getting
a
rough
idea
of
what
she
was
aiming
towards,
she
began
looking
for
definite
themes
that
may
be
incorporated
within
the
final
design.
After
knowing
she
wanted
to
illustrate
a
spaceship,
she
created
a
secondary
mood
board
focusing
on
different
spaceship
designs
she
could
use
as
inspiration.
From
gaining
inspiration
from
the
secondary
mood
board,
she
started
sketching
out
some
rough
ideas
and
also
the
book
cover
layout
too.
Those
sketches
led
to
the
development
of
the
final
drawing
for
the
cove.
Adobe
Illustrator
was
then
used
to
create
a
vector
of
the
drawing,
a
compositional
image
was
also
added
to
give
reference
as
to
where
the
font
may
be
placed.

The
next
stage
was
a
type
study,
the
font
needed
to
be
strong
as
it
played
a
large
part
shown
on
the
front
cover.
All
the
completed
elements
were
brought
together
to
create
a
colour
study,
previous
inspiration
helped
towards
this.
Returned
to
typeface
but
limited
ideas
to
find
a
more
appropriate
font,
looked
it
previous
issues
to
resolve
the
problem.
Created
another
colour
study
with
different
explorations
of
two
specific
colours
that
explore
different
effects
in
order
to
find
a
final
design.
First
attempt
towards
the
final
design,
helped
identify
issues
such
as
typeface
and
colour
scheme
but
also
progressed
through
adding
new
ideas
and
by
creating
the
finished
layout.
The
final
printed
design
with
all
the
different
elements
brought
together
and
completed.
The
completed
cover
on
the
book.
