2. Being Safe At Work, Communicate
There is a lot of different things to remember
when you want to be safe at work.
Communication is a big one. For example, if
you don’t know something ASK. There’s no
shame in not knowing something, it’s better to
ask and learn as opposed to not asking and
getting hurt, or hurting someone else.
3. Your Rights and Responsibilities
Knowing your rights and responsibilities is very
important. You as a person have the right to
be safe and should not have to do things that
are too dangerous for you, or that you are not
trained for. You are also responsible for what
you do, so be safe and know what you are
doing and if you are doing it correctly.
4. Focus on Your Task
When you are working, try to avoid getting
distracted. You must pay attention to what
you are doing, this could easily prevent
injuries and accidents. Even if you are just
thinking about school or home, you are at
work so focus on that.
5. Get Enough Rest
In order to do your job properly you will need
lots of rest and sleep. Try to plan out and
manage your time wisely so you can get to
sleep on time. You will not work your best
unless you have enough energy. This can also
make you more aware, therefore helping
prevent you from making mistakes or causing
an accident.
6. Stay Calm
You may feel pressured or rushed to get things
done, and being under so much stress may
cause you to do something wrong and get
hurt, or cause an accident. You need to
remain calm so that you can function properly
and think things through. Staying calm and
relax reduces the chance of an accident
happening.
7. Conclusion
There are many concepts to remember when
you are trying to stay safe at work. Being
young puts you at more risk, but if you have
common sense, and you follow the steps
above, then you have less of a chance to be
involved in an accident or injury.
