Nick is the Insurance Industry Practice Leader for Progressive Intelligence (Pvt.) Ltd. (PIPL),
a management consultancy specializing in business strategy, programme governance
and operations, with offices in the UK, US and India. With his broad base of experience,
Nick's consulting practice focuses on strategy, change and transformation, and
marketing.
As Practice Leader, Nick offers advice on business strategy, scenario based planning and
advises on strategy, planning and operations. He has helped clients to progress to a
flexible strategic planning model, which allows them to manage uncertainty by
adapting to rapidly changing environments. Additionally, he is able to span the divide
between the business and IT to ensure technology is used as an abler of business
change.
Nick brings over 20 years experience in the global insurance industry. He has worked for
property and casualty insurance companies, across Europe, in the areas of underwriting,
operations, and senior management. Most recently, Nick was Head of Business Services
position, responsible for strategy, IT, and operations, at a leading London insurer.
Prince 2 qualified and an Agile practitioner, Nick delivers results early on, by working with
C-Level executives to define and deliver IT. He has successfully led many ambitious
programmes working with experts from disparate disciplines in internal and external
teams. These programmes have ranged from single solution applications for real-time
catastrophe aggregation to company-wide system replacement.
Additionally, Nick is an experienced international marketer with an extensive
background in PR, marketing strategy, market research, competitive intelligence,
knowledge management and CRM. He works with businesses to achieve clarity about
their strategy and how to embed strategy in internal processes and marketing
proposition.

A major transformation programme at an international insurers’ delivering a complex
multi-million dollar ERP system for replacing legacy IT systems;
BI and data-warehouse replacements involving migration and upgrade of standard
operating/analytics, balanced scorecards, reports and KPIs;
Design and implementation of an online B2B trading platform and a bespoke online
catastrophe aggregation tool for PC underwriters to manage their cat exposure
and submit regular data to their reinsurers.
