2. Teen Slasher
Teen Slasher is a sub genre of the Horror genre. It mainly
includes a group of teens and a psychopathic killer
stalking and murdering them in a certain sequence. The
characters are usually killed in a very violent way with a
knife or another bladed weapon. Throughout the years
some of the most memorable and iconic Horror films have
been teen slashers.
4. Teen Slasher – Mask
Theme
The four films I have included are all extremely popular
iconic and memorable throughout the world of horror. All
of these films have a masked antagonist in them. This is
very conventional of this Sub Genre as using a mask
restricts the audience from seeing the true identity of the
character and not being able to see the characters
emotions strikes a fearful chord in many. Also using a
masks gives a character that sense of mysteriousness
and keeps the audience guessing who the true identity of
the character might be.
5. Teen Slasher – Why I chose it
I have chosen this sub genre for my own trailer as Teen
slashers are something I personally enjoy and I’m
interested in. I have also based a lot of my inspirational
research around popular and successful teen slashers.
Using this style of horror will also benefit me when I am
recruiting cast as my peers will fit the age range for a
teen slasher so I will be able to put together a realistic
cast. I am also interested in adopting the use of a mask
into my trailer and I believe this works best with this type
of sub genre.
