TYPES OF GREEN
  By Karina Howard
By Anna Fischer http://www.flickr.com/photos/27594459@N04/5226907689/
          Lime
  It has juice squirting out
   Out of it’s limey spout!
  Seeming like it’s going to
           Blind you!
  Bind you with it’s power.
Over all types of green I know,
    I favor lime the most.
              Why?
Reflection for Lime

This poem came to me so naturally. I think it came to
me like this because I really loved the color that I was
writing about, and I had lots of words to describe it
with, and many ways to picture it.
The tools I used to write this poem were : Rhyme,
metaphor, heart, and 6 room image poem.
Dark
         Dark green is
          A damp, weary forest.
           The green branches
             Are rough, like a quest
But it sure isn’t the best
                 When its a
                    Dense, blackish green sheen.
Because I’ve heard people went in,
                         But never again were seen!

Reflection for Dark

This poem was a bit hard to write because I really
wanted to make it rhyme but it was hard to find good
rhyming words for this topic.
The tools I used for this poem were : Metaphor, 6
room image poem, simile, heart
Forest
This type of green
 is like a pine tree
      waving it’s
       branches
     in the wind.
  You are pinned
in place, listening,
  and swaying to
      the rhythm
 of the forest-like
     greenness.
Reflection for Forest
This poem was quite easy because I took bits and
pieces of the Dark poem and it had the same idea as
the Dark poem so it was pretty easy for me to write,
considering the Dark poem. If I hadn’t had the Dark
poem to copy parts from, though, I would’ve had a hard
time writing this one.
The tools I used for this poem were : Rhyme, heart,
personification, 6 room image poem.
Neon
       Bright
    like a light
 is neon green.
  Oh! So much
  Neon green
    has sheen.
      Blinking
      Winking
      Sinking
     Shrinking
 in the coming
light of the day.
Reflection for Neon

This poem was similar to the Lime poem because this
is probably my 2nd favorite color, so I had the same
path for this poem.
The tools I used for this poem were : Simile, rhyme,
heart, repetition, and personification
Leaf
             Veins
           in the leaf
          are shining.

            Colors
          in the leaf
        are perplexing,

        Twisty, swirly
        and blinding.

       Turning, turning,
        perplexing you.

           They are
   blacking out your senses,
forcing you not to hear a sound.

  They are telling you things
        in your mind.
   Like a comforting voice.

      As the color churns
         in your head
      you keep thinking

       About the way
        you saw that
    amazing, natural green.
Reflection for Leaf

This poem was hard to write because I wanted to write
a long poem, so that was a challenge for me, because I
usually write poems of average length.
The tools I used were : Heart, rhyme, personification,
simile, repetition.

Reflection for Light

This poem was really fun to write, because I enjoy
writing poems that include a lot of rhyme. It’s
interesting to hear all the combinations.
The tools I used for this poem were : Rhyme, simile,
personification, metaphor.
Reflection on my Anthology

The reason I chose this theme was because I really like
the color green, so I had a lot of good words to describe
the different types of green with! That enabled me to
 write great poems!
