-Government has made the text books available as e-books
on internet now.
- On http://www.ebook.gov.bd/ there are 300 textbooks
and100 support texts available for download.
-These e-books are inter active, containing videos,
animations and images.
Results of the public exams have been published through
mobile operators from 2009.
Application for admission in public universities, colleges and
medical colleges are available in mobile phones. 5 years ago
students have to go to the respective universities to collect
and submit the application form. Most of them went to
agents who charged double.

Information and Service Centres (UISC) have been established in
every Union .
include birth registration, online registration for prospective migrant workers,

Training for students, youths, women and young entrepreneurs.
E-Tax
(NBR) initiated E-TIN service from July, 2013.
More than 600,000 tax payers have registered in this service. From 30th June, 2014, tax
payers won’t be able to pay their taxes without registering in E-TIN.
12. E-land record system (E-Porcha)
Maintaining analogue and paper-based land records encouraged ‘Red Tapism’ and
made the service inaccessible without having proper channels.
Citizens can apply SA, CS and BRS land records and porcha.
Electronic Birth registration system
Government is delivering birth registration certificates through online from 2013.
National E Service System (NESS)
The implementation of NESS is in progress .
It has been established in 250 offices in Jessore district on pilot basis. Initially, 600
government staffs and officers have been trained for this system.
National E-Tathyakosh
National E Tathyakosh is the one-stop solution and online encyclopedia for providing
and sharing livelihood-related information

the farmers are the major keys of agriculture development in Bangladesh .

has disseminated 12000 mobile phone to agricultural extension agent.

(www.ais.Gov.bd) which will provide all the information require for a
farmer.

receive money within 20 minutes from 2750 post & sub post
offices.
Bangladesh police has initiated online services on trail basis.

Decreasing the time, cost rate of fraud dramatically.
15. ICT In HealthCare
Maternal mortality, currently at 5.4% and 3.8% respectively, to the 2021 target
levels of 1.5% for both rates.
Relevance of ICTs in MNCH(Maternal, Newborn and Child Healthcare):
I. Improving healthcare delivery .
II. Strengthening management , monitoring and planning healthcaredelivery.
III. Capacity development of service providers in field .
IV. Public awareness development.
Telemedicine-The Access to Information (A2I) under the Prime Minister’s
Office operates Union Information and Service Centers (UISCs) in 4,536 unions of
Bangladesh.
E-clinic-.The proposed e-clinic project will cover awareness building among the
rural communities and online health consultation using video as well as web application
to offer basic primary health care services in rural setting.
16. KEY ICT PROGRESSES IN LAST FIVE YEARS

the vision of a ‘Digital Bangladesh.

The tablet is getting popular among people
The industry is hopeful that the overall PC sales specially tab and laptop
for 2013-14 will increase along with the widescreen smart phones.
17. Software & Outsourcing
The earning from outsourcing IT jobs has increased by 56% in 2013.
In the 2011-12 fiscal year, the earning was USD 70.6 million, while it was USD 46.35
million in the 2010-11 fiscal year.
Software leaders hoped that this industry will contribute 1 percent of GDP in coming
years.
