The School of Data aims to empower civil society organizations, journalists and citizens with data skills through an exploration-based learning approach. Learners will work with real data, learning skills as they need them by completing hands-on data expeditions that take them through the full data investigation process from question formulation to presentation. Courses are offered through mechanical MOOCs on topics like data retrieval and cleaning, and learners can get help from data sherpas. The School of Data recognizes skills with badges and keeps learners informed through its website and newsletter.
