On 11th October 2014, GTU celebrated the National Days of ZAMBIA, SOUTH KOREA,
AUSTRIA AND TURKEY. Centre for Global Business Studies (CGBS) is one of the PG research
centres of GTU which promote the research work in field of business management and facilitates
the foreign study programs. GTU has an extensive program of International studies. Under this
program, Global Country Study Reports (GCSR) was introduced in 2011.
Our MBA students are studying more than 110 countries in this academic year. With the objective
of keeping the students well-informed about other countries, we have started to celebrate national
days of other countries. We have celebrated National days of 27 countries so far.
Dignitaries who adorned the event with their
valuable experience and views were Mr.
Sunil Modi (Member, Board of Advisors for
GCSR), Dr. Saurabh N. Mehta, Associate
professor and HOD –VIT Mumbai, Dr.
Akshai Aggarwal (Vice Chancellor, GTU),
Dr. Rajesh Khajuria- Director CKSVIM and

NATIONAL DAYS CELEBRATION OF ZAMBIA,
SOUTH KOREA, AUSTRIA AND TURKEY
2. The Celebration began with lamp lighting by all the
guests followed by speech of various speakers. As a
part of the National Day Celebration, all the
participants and guests recited the national anthems
of INDIA, ZAMBIA, SOUTH KOREA,
AUSTRIA AND TURKEY.
Dr. Sarika Srivastava, Assistant Professor- GTU
was the Master of Ceremony for the event and she
introduced all speakers to the audience. Dr. Kaushal
Bhatt, Assistant Professor- GTU and Mr. Keyur
Darji, Research Associate- GTU welcomed the esteemed guests by giving them flower bouquet.

faculty members and students of R.B. Institute of Management Studies who are studying
AUSTRIA, Patel group of Institutions- MBA Program who are studying – TURKEY, CK
Shah Vijapurwala Institute of Management- Vadodara, who are studying SOUTH KOREA
and N.R. Vekaria, Junagarh who are studying – ZAMBIA participated in the event at GTU.
Dr. G.P. Vadodaria, I/C Registrar, GTU welcomed all the guests
as well as faculties and students of all four institutes and added
that under Global MBA programme this is the innovative way of
studying various countries of the world. Dr. Vadodaria also
highlighted key objectives of GCSR. He pointed out the benefits
of this National Day Celebration and said that this is the platform
where students can exchange ideas and showcase their learnings
to the country experts. He also instructed to all the faculties and
students that all of us have to work together to achieve success.
3. Dr. Akshai Aggarwal, Vice Chancellor, GTU shared
the objectives behind celebrating National Days and the
efforts by GTU to make the GCSR program effective.
He said, each professor who is teaching a specific
country must have knowledge and updated with the
current happening of the country. Dr. Aggarwal posed
certain questions to the faculties and students of the
institutes - Do you know every morning that what is
happening in the Country? Are you up to date with the
latest information of the country under GCSR study? Dr.
Aggarwal also informed that only cut-copy-paste will never build a reputation of the faculties. He
also pointed out that GTU has the best syllabus of MBA and wanted to be the best University but
whether it is on the way to become the best university or not is answered every minute, ever hour
in the class rooms when faculties are taking lectures and students are attending the same. Dr.
Aggarwal told that if the classroom is “Dead” GTU is dead along with the class room because
universities are known not by the buildings but it is known by the academic activates of the
universities.
Dr. Saurabh Mehta, Associate Professor and HOD, VIT, Mumbai shared his experience of
South Korea with students and faculties of the institutes. He stayed in the South Korea for almost
8 years. He emphasised that if anyone who wants to learn
anything new about the country then he should try to
learn about the culture and language of that country. He
guided students on various business opportunities in
Korea. He informed students to explore unorganized
sectors and the sectors which represents Indian Culture
and ethos. He told students to focus industries i.e. Indian
Yoga, Ayurvedic Medicines, etc. He also identify and
explained certain similarities and differences between
India and South Korea.
Mr. Sunil Modi presented technical information on Afro –
Asian countries. He discussed about the major Industries of
all four countries and the opportunity for Indian industries to
expand their businesses. He also explained the importance of
GCSR in the Management Studies. He discussed the
importance and ways of investment in Gujarat and suggested
students to create new global market for small and medium
scale companies. He told to the students that GCSR can be a
key for their success if they study and prepare the project with suggested guidelines properly.
4. Dr. Rajesh Khajuria, Director CKSVIM and
Chairman- GCSR Committee emphasised and
informed that the main motive of this course is to train
students and faculties for International studies. He also
told students that “our job is to polish, we cannot make
but we can certainly help you”. He also informed
participants that GTU is the first university which have
16 electives in their MBA curricula. This the only
university which has 70 courses which are offered to
students and allowed students to choose a course of
his/her likings.
Mr. Keyur Darji, Research Associate- GTU proposed the vote of
thanks to the speakers on behalf of GTU for gracing the National day
celebration and sharing their experiences with the participants and
faculty members of all four institutes.
In the Technical session, the students from all four institutes have presented the information
regarding the political, economic, social, and cultural environment of the respective countries of
study.

At the end of the celebration, Centre for Global Business Studies- Gujarat Technological
University presented awards to all four institutes for their active participation in the National day
celebration of ZAMBIA, SOUTH KOREA, AUSTRIA AND TURKEY. All the participants
were delighted to attend the unique GCSR activity organized by Centre for Global Business
Studies (CGBS), Gujarat Technological University.
