Mise-en-scene refers to everything visible within the frame of a film, including setting, props, lighting, color, costumes, makeup, facial expressions, and body language. It is used to convey information about period, location, social status, and character personality. Key elements of mise-en-scene include the setting, which provides context about where and when the scene takes place; props, which further emphasize the setting; lighting and color, which set mood; and costumes, hair, and makeup, which indicate time period and location. Facial expressions and body language of actors, as well as their positioning within the frame, are also important components of mise-en-scene.

It is the arrangement of everything that appears in the frame –
setting, props, lightning and color, costume hair and make up, facial
expressions and body language, positioning and pace and visual
effect-. Mise-en-scene is a French term who means ‘placing on stage’.

the audience where and when the set is. That tell us too about
anything about the genre.

Props are used to emphasize the setting. That give another information

Natural and artificial light is used in making a film , it has a big
influence on the look and the mood that is created like in ‘amerian
beauty’. Lightning is responsible for significant effect on each
scene, like when they use candle to illuminate a room.
Lighting can give background to a scene, while also bringing out
the texture and detail in setting, décor and setting

We can used 3 kind of light :
Three-point lightning: It is use to provide an illumination of the
scene. Its use with the key light, fill light and back light.
High key lighting: The scene appear really bright and soft with very
few shadow.
Low key lighting: The light is at a very low level, causing the frame
to be cast with large shadow.
