Add navigation component
Don’t forget to save your work!
Navigation component allows you to define parameters from which the user can choose. These parameters will later be available to other components via placeholders.
Click the plus sign to add a parameter.
Select the type of parameter and add the parameters accordingly.
In the slide, we see an example for choosing a parameter of type Dimensions members.
The configuration of such a parameter includes selecting:
The view from where the dimension will be retrieved.
The desired dimension – in this case “product”
Members of the dimension – in this case “Dairy”, “Deli” and “Eggs” – these selected members will appear in the component and the user will be able to choose from them.
Current member – the member that will be selected by default.
Visualization – what type of component will be used for selection – buttons, menu etc.
Also note that you have the ability to search and select members in the show field
This is a example of a parameter of type numeric range.
Other components can use placeholders that will be replaced by the value selected by the user using this component.
Can show more than one parameter in each navigation Component.
When you define a navigation component, you will be presented with all the parameters already defined. You may choose which parameters to display in your component, by marking the checkbox in its title bar.
After you have defined a component, you can change its properties, for example, change the name of the component.
You can change the color scheme and other display options of a component. You can also inherit these properties from the workboard properties.
As of SP1 you can change caption settings without clearing “Inherit properties” section
