2. Genre
The genre I have chosen to do is horror. I feel like horror is
an interesting genre as it is one of the main genres which
makes the audience interested through teaser trailers. It
makes the audience wonder what will happen next through
suspense and quick cuts. Horror is a good genre of a film to
film as there can be a variety of settings where the plot can
be set.
3. The Plot/Narrative
The plot of my horror film/trailor starts off with a group of teenagers
who begin there weekend packing for there weekend away for a
camping trip in a forest, hundreds of miles away from there home
town of Luton, in celebration of finishing there A levels. The
weekend starts off well and the whole group of friends are getting
along nicely. Until, a certain member of the group goes out to get
fire wood (Dom) when suddenly he is bitten by a unidentified
creature. As the weekend progresses members of the group start to
go missing and strange things start happening at night around the
camp. The group realise they are in grave danger and the
remaining members are in search for there friends and try to get
home safely knowing something is very different about there friend,
Dom.
4. Sounds
Music
Slow mysterious music will be used in moments of suspense and music will
speed up when approaching scary moments to prepare the audience
Diagetic
Sounds used which we can see. Example: footsteps
Non diagetic
Non diagetic sounds which we cannot see which will be added after filming
may include of gun fire.
5. Target Audience
Primary
My primary audience will be for a certificate of 15+ and will appeal for both
genders who are interested in horror films. Due to the nature of the film it
will be best suit the ages of 15 +
Secondary
The secondary audience will be both genders of any age might watch it with
friends or family. But mostly the parents will be the secondary audiences as
they will go with there children to see watch this film.
6. Similiar films
IT (TV 1990)

they are called back to fight the same clown again.

Tommy Lee Jones
Writers: Stephen King (novel), Lawrence D. Cohen
Stars: Richard Thomas, Tim Reid and Annette O’Toole
7. Mis en scene
Props/Clothes:
My film will include of many props I will need to
gather. First of all I will need to get the right type of
clothes which will relate to the ages of my actors and
in the correct time space as well so that the clothes
the characters wear will be accurate.
Setting:
The setting will need to be accurate for a horror film
as it needs to be scary and mystery in the right
times. A forest is good as it is mysterious and will be
scary at night, also this setting will be easy to gain
access to film in.
8. Time Management
My time management for my coursework will have
to be well managed as I will need to make sure my
research is done at the right time so that I can
develop my research and understandings into my
own ideas so that I can plan my filming so I know
when and where I am going to film the right parts
of the trailer. I will need to do 6 hours a week at
least on my work so I can get everything done on
time in the correct order.
9. Permission
For certain parts of my filming I will need
permission off of people so I can continue with
my work. First of all if I am going to use certain
equipment from the school I will need
permission to use there cameras etc. Also if I
need to use a child in a certain part of my
filming for any reason I would need permission
off of the parents to make sure it is okay with
them to use there child. This also includes with
filming in school. Some parents may not want
there children being filmed, so I have to be
careful what people I show in my filming and
other things I may need permission for.
10. USP
I feel that my film has quite a good USP
(unique selling point). I believe this because
the majority of people who watch scary/horror
films are people who are teenagers or young
adults. Through the use of most of my
characters being teenagers will help the
appeal of my film (teaser trailer) because the
audience and target audience will be able to
relate to it more. Also they could relate to this
type of film because they could try and relate
themselves in these kind of positions. I believe
that through this the film has a good USP by
relating to my audience.
