Adverbs help to answer questions: Jane jogged slowly. Jane arrived late. The children played upstairs. When  did Jane arrive? Where  are they playing? How  did she jog? verb verb verb
Can you find any Adverbs of Manner here? Verb: ‘moved’ Can you find any Adverbs of Time here? Verb: ‘meet up’ How  did Willy move  the spider? When  will Hugh and Willy  meet? “ Can  I  be of any help?” asked Willy, and he carefully moved the spider out of the way. Willy felt quite pleased with himself.  “ Want to meet up tomorrow?” asked Hugh.  Yes, that would be great,” said Willy.
Adverbs of Manner + suffix -ly Suffix  are words you add at the end of another word. Here are some examples: Slow +  -ly     Slow ly Quick +  -ly     Quick ly Neat +  -ly     Neat ly Try these out: Sudden - ly Suddenly Faithful - ly Faithfully
Adverbs of Manner + suffix -ly Adverbs of Manner answers the question HOW How did the bus stop? Suddenly . How did you pack your bag? Neatly. How do you assemble after recess? Quickly and quietly. Notice that Adverbs of Manner end with suffix -ly
Can you find any Adverbs of Manner here? Once upon a time, there lived a sister and brother who were not at all alike. At night the brother slept  soundly in his room while his  sister would lie awake, listening  to the noises at night. Whenever they were together, they fought and argued noisily. All the time.
