What is a chordate?
 Chordate – any
    animal of the
    phylum

    a notochord or
    spinal column

 The hallow
    nerve cord runs
    along the dorsal
    part of the
    body.
 The notochord
    is a long
    supporting rod
    that runs
    through the
    body just below
    the nerve cord.
