      There is also mash-ups of the UK election debate done for comedy value as it is almost mocking the debate.
      Another popular mash up is the downfall parodies where humorous subtitles have been added.

      YouTube contrasts to this as the stars of YouTube are real life everyday people which making its viewers less envious. Most of the stars of YouTube aren't actual celebrities.

      Charlie bit me: the home video is now so popular people even mimic and create parodies of the stars
      Fred: created fictional character, who has now won awards as well as starring in movies.
    • How videos become popular
      They can become popular via online communities like facebook where friends can share the links which will be passed on giving the video more hits.
      There are also rating sites like digg where people can rate the videos, the highest rated videos will then get the most views.
      If people search on yahoo for a video the ratings also appear, the higher the ratings on videos the more people will want to watch.
