 Scope of Work:
The subsea surveys shall consist of visual inspections (VI) and cathodic protection (CP)
system survey (anode condition survey and CP potential measurement). The inspection
and survey work shall be conducted using a work class ROV. However, a diver
inspection may be considered for survey of the CP system on areas difficult to access by
ROV such as the FPSO hull underside. Where a diver is used, the Contractor shall adhere
strictly to the specification of ExxonMobil’s Diving requirements.
The subsea inspection shall involve the use of ROV to inspect all subsea equipment (In-
line tee; Flow line end terminals; Christmas Trees; Jumpers), risers, flow lines
(including flex joints), umbilical, underwater part of the FPSO Hull, offloading lines
(including flex joints), and the submerged part of the calm buoy. The subsea inspection
shall cover but not limited to the following:
• General condition of the equipment
 • Detection of leaks
 Condition of features such as crossings, mechanical anchors, saddle blocks,
junctions, sub-sea valves assemblies, spool pieces, flanged joints, mechanical
connectors, or hyperbaric weld
 • Condition of the insulation
 • Condition of the anticorrosion coating
 • Condition of the field joints wrapping
 • Detection of bare metal areas
 • Cathodic protection potential measurement/anodes activity and depletion
 • Presence of debris in contact/close proximity to any equipment
 • Verification and measurement of free spans
 • Detection of scouring of subsea equipment support
 • Any other anomaly that may compromise the integrity of the subsea
equipment.
 The general field layout of USAN field inspection zone is as shown in Figure 2.
Eleven main areas have been detailed and sketched up graphically, however for
the current scope shall cover only ten areas as outlined below:

Summary of Inspection Work scope
Inspection Category Extent of Inspection Survey
GVI – Swim round Jacket members, piles and pile clusters, and legs
at all levels from seabed up to LAT. This survey
also includes the drilling template, boat landing
and the conductor protection nets. At least one
side of every component is to be inspected with
all round inspection where damage is suspected.Flooded Member

150mm relative to centre of -146.1m bracing at
legs and conductors. Clear debris from jacket
and template to 5m from jacket; spool pieces to
burial point or for 25m from riser base flange.

 Carry out CVI, GVI, FMD, CP and Valve survey for the subsea
asset integrity Manifolds, Riser towers, flexible risers and X
Trees
 MPL was asked to perform an inspection on the Calm Buoy
mooring lines in the ERHA field. This inspection was done on
behalf of the client, Exxon Mobil. The inspection was performed
by ROV on board the vessel, the Siem Marlin. The inspection
started on the 17th of October 2013. Below is a list of the
inspections performed and completed.
 ERHA Calm Buoy Mooring Lines
 100% overall general visual inspection of all 8 mooring lines.
 General visual inspections on the suction pile anchors.
 Close visual inspection of the spelter sockets.
 CP readings on the suction pile and mooring lines.
 Inspections of anodes protection where fitted.
MPL was asked to perform a UWILD inspection on the ERHA
FPSO. This inspection was done on behalf of the client, Exxon
Mobil. The inspection was carried out by ROV on board the
vessel, the Siem Marlin. The inspection started on the 19th
of
October 2013. Below is a list of the inspections performed.
FPSO UWILD INSPECTION
 General visual inspections of the port side shell sections.
 General visual inspections of the starboard side shell sections.
 General visual inspections of the bow and stern side shell sections.
 CP readings on the bottom shell (12 locations)
 General visual inspection of the anodes.
 Close visual inspection of the bottom shell sections
