Drama - Blocking
• Blocking: planned movement, especially
  movement that is connected to the characters’
  motivations and emotions
Ex: entering the room angrily, leaning toward
    another character lovingly
• Stage Business: movement that is related to
  characters’ general activity
Ex: sweeping the floor, making drinks, packing a
    suitcase
Drama - Blocking
• Types of stages: arena, thrust, proscenium
• Stage areas: upstage, downstage, etc.
• Body positions: back, front, left, right, profile,
  etc.
• Keep open as much as possible
