The first 9 years of his life he lived in Saxe-Eisenach, then his father died and he lived with his older brother in Saxe-Gotha-Altenburg. When he became an adult he started traveling more and settled in Weimar and got married and had 7 children. But most of his life and career he lived in Leipzig and Weimar.• Bach wrote thousands of pieces during the Baroque period (1600 to 1750). And Bach made many pieces from several instruments especially the bass, cello, and harpsichord.• Bach had 2 wives, the first one died her name was Maria Barbara Bach, she gave him 7 beautiful children, but unfortunately only 4 of them survived to become adults. A year after his first wife died, he married Anna Magdalena Bach and she gave him 13 beautiful children, making Bach a father of 20 children!
    • Music of Bach! Bach played many instruments but also sang! Bach played the harp, violin, piano, cello, organ, harpsichord, and viola. Bach wrote Cello Suites, Well – Tempered Clavier, and Toccata and Fugue in D minor. All of these were some of his most important works. Bach wrote for many groups and many different people over the years. He was first a keyboardist at the Duke church in Weimar, and later became an organist. When Bach first started working at an early age, he worked at churches and chapels. While he was working at the Chapel of Duke Johann from 1703- 1708 in Weimar, he would sing in groups mostly, and play the keyboard. As time went on Bach’s keyboard work was amazing, and spread across town so much that he was appointed the job of inaugural recital at St. Bonifaces Church in Arnstadt. He became dissatisfied at the post in the St. Boniface church because the choir singers were terrible in his opinion. After that he was working under Prince Leopold in Köthen and was his director of music (Kapellmeister), as well as the center of Leopold’s attention. In the future during 1717- 1723 Köthen, Bach started working for Prince Leopold. During that time Bach was the Prince’s Kapellmeister. During his time with Leopold, he made hit songs there featuring: Orchestral Suites, the Six Suites for Unaccompanied Cello, the Sonatas and Partitas for Solo Violin, and the Brandenburg Concertos.
