1. The Simple Present Tense
Uobičajenaradnja, tj.radnjakoja se ponavlja u razmacima:
I go to the gym on Monday and Friday.
I live in Belgrade, but he lives in London.
Present Continuous (to be /am, is, are/ + verb ing)
Radnjakoja se događaupravo u trenutkugovorenja:
Are you sitting or standing? I’m sitting.
She’s listening to you.
The Present Perfect (have/has + past participle)
a) Radnjakoja je počela u prošlosti i traje u trenutkugovorenja:
We have known each other for years.
I’ve lived here for 10 years.
b) Svršenjaradnja, alivremenski period u kojem se dogodilajošuvektraje: (this year, this
summer…)
Have you done much work today?
I’ve been to the cinema twice this week.
It has been very cold this winter.
c) Iskustvo:
Have you ever eaten snails?
Have you ever been to China?
Have you ever tried sushi?
d) Odredbe: just, already, since, yet, ever
I haven’t eaten anything since breakfast.
2. I’ve just seen him.
I've already done it!
Haven't you got ready yet?
The Present Perfect Continuous (have/has + been + verb ing)
Radnjakoja je započeta u prošlosti i traje i dalje u sadašnjosti: (ilikoja se trajaladuževremena u
najskorijojprošlosti)
She’s been studying French for two years.
I don’t feel like going out this evening. I’ve been working all day.
What have you been doing this morning? I’ve been looking at the traffic and people.

Razlikaizmeđu Simple i Continuous je što Simple iskazujestanje, a Continuous radnju:
I have been working for this company since 2001. - radnja
I have lived here since May. - stanje
The Simple Past Tense
Radnjazakoju se tačnoznakada se dogodila u prošlosti i kojaničimnijevezanazasadašnjost:
He visited London three years ago.
I bought this dress in Belgrade.
What did you do yesterday?
I saw my friend last Sunday.
You watched TV last night.
The Past Continuous Tense (was/were + verb ing)
a) Prošlaradnjakoja je bila u tokukada se dogodiladrugaradnja:
When I arrived home the children were watching TV.
It was still raining when I came in.
3. As I was leaving my office, the phone rang.
b) Radnjakoja je dužetrajala u određenomprošlomvremenskomperiodu:
She was reading all evening.
I was watching TV from 7 till 11 o’clock last night.
The children were playing all afternoon.
c) Dveili vise radnjikojesu se događaleistovremeno u određenomprošlomvremenskomperiodu:
I was cleaning my room and mother was cooking the dinner.
They were playing cards, while I was reading a book.
He was playing piano and we were dancing.
The Past Perfect Tense: (had + past participle)
Svršenaradnjakoja se dogodila pre drugeradnje u prošlosti:
When I arrived, the match had already started.
When she returned home, she remembered that she had forgotten to buy coffee.
I had studied English before I came to England.
When they arrived to the station, the train had left.
The Past Perfect Continuous Tense (had + been + verb ing)
Prošlaradnjakoja je trajaladuževremena pre negošto se drugaprošlaradnjadogodila:
I had been walking for five hours before I saw the first house.
It had been raining for hours the day before we came.
I had been waiting for hours before the bus arrived.
She had been reading a book for an hour before she remembered that she had to go shopping.
