1.WHAT IS EDUCATION?
Etymologically:   – “education” comes from two Latin verbs.  -educare  = to bring up, to rear.  - educere  = to draw out, to lead out    to raise up. “ An all-round drawing out of the best in child and human – body, mind and spirit”   -  Gandhi

Dr. Radha Krishnan   – says “ Education to be complete, must be humane, it must include not only the training of the intellect but also the refinement of the heart and discipline of the spirit. ” * The longest list of degrees and academic titles cannot make one really wise. “ Education does not necessarily make a person holy; it can make a person clever devil, instead of a foolish one!”
John Paul II   (Address to UNESCO, 2nd June 1980)   A fully educated person is a spiritually mature person, one who is more concerned about “being” more, than “having” more; an educated person is a mature person who is capable of educating himself and educating others. “ A nation with atomic power is not a strong nation; but a nation with people with strong character is indeed a strong nation. If a nation is to be strong, then the character of the people of that nation needs to be elevated. For this purpose, value-based education is an indispensable device.”
