1. Intestinal microsporidiosisgroup 3&4 Causative agent : Enterocytzoon bieneusi Order: Microsporidia Unicellular, obligatory intracellular, spore forming, opportunistic pathogens. History First identified in the enterocytes of a Haitian AIDS patient in 1985 and also patients from Uganda, Zambia, Netherlands, UK & USA. Reported commonly in immunosuppressed individuals Eg:HIV AIDS, Immunosuppressive drugs(organ transplantation, chemotherapy) . Mainly causes malabsorption and diarrhea Spores found in stool and inoculation through the faeco-oral route
