  • 2. Role of Outreach Support Advisor
    • To support Edge Hill Faculty of Education students who study away from the university
    • 3. To provide information and guidance related to Learning Services, Student Services and Careers departments
    • 4. To promote, teach and embed Information Literacy into the programmes at Outreach Centres
    • 5. To be the point of contact for Off Campus students and refer queries to the relevant people

    I travel to various locations within the North West and sometimes further afield
    (Liverpool, Manchester, Preston, Wirral, Shrewsbury, Coventry)
    I visit Outreach Centres, Partner Colleges, Venues and Schools were EHU courses are being taught
    Some FoE courses are now recruiting nationwide
  • 6. Life gets complicated
    There are different levels of partnerships which impose differences in responsibility & provision
    Not all staff and programmes are willing to allocate teaching time for Information Literacy sessions
    Due to nationwide recruitment (Senco, Dyslexia , Online MA) high numbers of students will not receive face to face support
  • 7. Ways to manage
    Regular and clear communication with partners
    Contact academic staff to offer our services rather than waiting for an invitation
    Evaluating what we do and how we do it
    We are currently working on producing more online materials for wider accessibility
