Graphics! Graphics! Presentation Transcript

  • GRAPHICS! Find them, grab them, and use them to spice up your presentations!
  • Where to find graphics
    • Google Images
    • Flickr
    • You can find images in
    • various places on the
    • web. Here are some
    • places to start looking:
    Clip Art Collections
  • What kind of file extensions should I use?
    • There are many different types of file extensions.
    • The most common types are bmp, gif, jpeg, svg, swf, and tiff. These types of files are supported by most programs
  • What about copyright?
    • Avoid copyright infringement! Always make sure that downloading and using graphics is allowed. When in doubt, contact the author for permission or don’t download!

  • Creative Commons
    • Look for the following logos:
  • How to save graphics to your computer
    • Place your cursor over the image
    • Right click, and choose Save Image, Save As, or Save Target.
  • How to insert graphics into your presentation
    • From the drop down menu at the top of the screen select Insert
    • Select Picture, then from file
    • Browse and select the file that you saved. Remember, we saved our file in the folder My Pictures
  • Graphics and the SmartBoard
    • Not only can you insert images into the SmartBoard notebook (just like as in PowerPoint), but there is also a camera feature.
