ENGLISH LESSON PLAN LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD TANIA GANDARILLAS ABASCAL ANA PÉREZ LERÍN
LESSON PLAN: Age : Primary school 2nd course of the 1st cycle.
5 sessions of 50 minutes.
GENERAL OBJETIVES: Learn English vocabulary. Improve reading in English. Improve pupils’ listening. Improve children’s speaking. Work coperatively in groups.
Understand written texts.
CONTENTS: Understand and memorize the vocabulary. Be interested in the target language Cooperate in social games.
Participate in the class development.
Use the computer and the Internet (supervised by teacher)
METHODOLOGY: We will use a participative methodology. Oral and written skills will be the most important. We will promote a positive attitude to learn the target language.
We will use dynamic and funny activities.
ASSESSMENT: We will do a continuous evaluation looking over children´s exercises. We will do a final and an oral text.
We will evaluate children´s behavior.
SESSIONS DEVELOPMENT: We will start every session doing a review of the previous session.This will take around 5 minutes. Children have to participate during the session.
Children will do exercises and then, we will correct the activities with them.
SESSION 1. WE KNOW THE STORY.
LISTEN AND READ: Children will listen the little red riding hood story while they read it. Each pupil will read a fragment of the story and the teacher will correct their pronunciation. LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD STORY
The teacher will explain the meaning of the words by means of movements.
SESSION 2. DO YOU UNDERSTAND THE STORY?
REMEMBER AND COMMENT: The teacher will reread the story in order to remember it. 1.Is Little Red Riding Hood scared in the wood? 2.Is the Wolf rude or charming? 3.Is the Grummy happy or angry when the wolf comes in? 4.What happens when the hunter comes into Grammy’s house? 5. Do you like the story?
Then, the teacher make questions about the story.
LEARN NEW VOCABULARY: Learn the new vocabulary (parts of the body) using flashcards. HEAD, SHOULDERS, KNEES AND TOES SONG
Listen and dance a song to increase the vocabulary easily.
SESSION 3. I HAVE FAMILY!
VERBS: TO HAVE GOT. The teacher will write on the blackboard the verbal conjugation. The students will copy it on their notebooks. I have got You have got He has got She has got We have got You have got They have got I have got mother I haven’t got any brother Have you got any sister?
Then, they will write it in affirmative, negative and interrogative form.
LEARN NEW VOCABULARY: Learn the new vocabulary (family members) using flashcards. How many brothers have you got? How many uncles have you got?
Then, teacher will make questions using the new verb and the new vocabulary.
PLAY WITH THE NEW VOCABULARY:
SESSION 4. WHAT DO YOU REMEMBER?
CONSOLIDATE THE KNOWLEDGE We will review the vocabulary using flash cards. CROSSWORD 2 THE BODY WORD SEARCH FAMILY TREE PLAY SIMON SAYS
Then students will do several activities and it will be corrected in class.
SESSION 5. LET´S PLAY!
ENGLISH IS FUNNY The Little Red Riding Hood song Family vocabulary To Have got The human body We will divide the class into several groups. Each one will play a different game, and then they will rotate. BINGO DOMINOES
At the end of the session, we will listen and dance a song.
