FEE AND RATE SCHEDULE
Latest Revision: 06/01/09
Board Approval: Pending
Last Revision: 07/01/08
POLICY
A fee and rate schedule will be provided to prospective clients (foster parents) during orientation sessions.
The policy will include any fees the agency will charge its clients. Additionally, the fee policy shall identify
expenses for which a foster family will be responsible. The schedule shall include a list of rates paid to
foster parents.
PROCEDURES
BEHAVIORAL INTERVENTION CERTIFICATION
Foster parents are required to complete at least four (4) clock hours of behavioral intervention training each
year. The agency will incur the expense of these trainings if the trainings are held by our agency. If foster
parents attend other behavioral trainings available in the community, they are responsible for the expense.
CANRIS BACKGROUND CHECK
A CANRIS background check (Child Abuse Records) will be run every two years for each member of a
foster family household (ages 12 and up). The foster family incurs no expense. Expense of NCIC
background check through Identix is $48.95 per person. This one time expense will be incurred by the
foster family before verification. All persons living full or part time in the home who are over the age of 18
will need the NCIC check.
CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECK
A criminal background check will be run every two years for each member of a foster family household
(ages 14 and up). Expenses will be paid by the agency.
CHILDCARE
Childcare may be reimbursable by DFPS. However, this will be determined on a case-by-case basis by the
CPS worker. Should childcare be required and it is not approved in advance by the CPS worker, this would
be an expense incurred by the foster family. The agency does not reimburse day care expenses.
CREDIT CHECK
A credit check will be run on prospective clients initially. The agency will incur the expense of this credit
check.
CPR/FIRST AID
Foster families are responsible for obtaining CPR/First Aid Certified for Infant/Child. This certification must
be renewed every two years. The initial certification is a cost the foster family is responsible to pay. If
there are two parents, both parents should receive certifications. Bi-Annual renewals will be paid for by the
agency.

POLICIES & PROCEDURES
FLU SHOTS
Annual Flu shots are recommended for foster family households. This expense is the responsibility of the
foster family.
HOME STUDIES
A thorough home study must be conducted at each prospective foster family’s home. This expense will be
paid for by the agency.
INSPECTIONS
Each foster family home must have the following annual inspections; fire inspection, health inspection, gas
pipe inspection and liquefied petroleum gas system inspection. Any expenses incurred for these
inspections are the responsibility of the foster family.
LIVING EXPENSES
All living expenses for children in foster care are the responsibility of the foster parents. Foster parents will
be given a daily reimbursement rate to assist with the expenses of their foster children. Foster care
reimbursements are specifically for the purpose of providing daily care to the foster children. The agency
will not reimburse foster parents for expenses above the daily reimbursement rate.
MEDICAL/DENTAL/PSYCHOLOGICAL/EDUCATIONAL
All medical, dental, psychological, educational expenses of a foster child are the responsibility of the foster
parents. Children will receive Medicaid. Any expenses incurred should be by a Medicaid provider.
Medicaid will reimburse the provider. It is important for foster parents to learn about Medicaid limits and
how Medicaid works so as to not incur personal expenses for their foster children.
TB TEST
Foster families are responsible for ensuring each member of their respective households gets a TB test
annually. TB tests must be received each year prior to the expiration date of the current test. This is a cost
the foster family is responsible to pay.
TRAININGS
Agency foster families are required to secure a minimum of twenty (20) hours of training specifically

of these trainings, if they are held by our agency. If foster parents attend other trainings available in the
community, they are responsible for the expense.
