Concept
The choice of source lamp will keep the look clean asked by the owner. The light source looks imperceptible

The report on the Getty Villa case study prepared for the U.S. Department of Energy’s solid-state lighting
GATEWAY demonstration project summarizes some of the research findings on LED replacement lamps
from the GCI. Compared to earlier generation LED products, current warm white (2700–3000K) LEDs
deliver less of a spike in the short-wavelength (blue) region, resulting in filtered halogen and LED light
sources performing similarly in fading tests. LED light sources are one tool that curators and designers can
use to achieve the preservation targets for objects of art reducing power use by 83%.
Safety guidelines:
Use layers of metal screens in LED to reduce illumination levels to the precise target value on specific object
(20 footcandles).
Moderately susceptible, the painting should be kept at <200lux target value, to a maximum of 480 000 lux/h
year.
Dimming reduces the overall radiant energy transfer to the work of art.
Limiting ambient gallery illumination levels to 50 lux to optimize the display lifetime of the works. It is
possible to get acceptable color rendering at 50 lux (5 footcandles).

CM Track fixtures are designed to integrate into the nar-
row track slot. Enclosed fixture profile has a machined ring
and enclosed backcap design which reduces back spill
light onto the ceiling. Wallwash or object front end snoot
options are available which allow for lenses and acces-
sories. The fixture utilizes an MR16 halogen lamp. CM fix-
tures can be used as accent lights to highlight objects
or to wash walls with spread lenses and wallwash snoots.
All CM MRLUX fixture versions incorporate an integral
low voltage electronic transformer design which is com-
pletely concealed inside the centimeter wide track
opening above the ceiling plane. To power fixture, insert
into track with stem perpendicular to track opening. To
change circuit, reverse the direction of the track adapter.
