CELL SURVIVORVACUOLE By: Lexi, Jeremy and Lauren
FUNCTION A Vacuole is a membrane bound cavity inside a cell. The Vacuole stores materials like water, food, nutrients and waste products. There is a membrane that surrounds a bunch of fluid. The vacuole holds on to things the cell might need, like a storage bubble! The vacuole can hold the cells waste products and break them down into small pieces that cant hurt the cell. Most of a plant cell’s volume depends on how full the vacuole is.
WHY YOU NEED THEM They provide structure for a plant, when the vacuoles don’t have enough fluid in them the plant will start to droop. Vacuoles can store toxic or unwanted materials in the cell for decomposition and removal. They help maintain pH in the cell. They transport materials in the cell.
VACUOLE:
ALLIANCE The vacuole would form an alliance with the chloroplasts. Vacuoles help chloroplasts because they have water that’s needed for photosynthesis.
VOTE OFF We would vote off the lysosomes because they seem like the least important to the cell. They digest and break things apart with their enzymes but other organelles also can break materials apart and help digest them.
