Why do we need the Thai Label Generation Rules? (1/2)
§ Royal Thai Government has announced that Thailand will
transform itself to digital economy by 2017 through
enhancing five pillars-hard, soft, service infrastructures,
digital economy promotion, and digital society.
§ Currently, only 25% of Thai people uses the Internet in
daily life; therefore, we need to increase number of
Internet user to reduce digital divide between those who
are able to access and those who are not.
§ The economic growth could be benefited once people use
the Internet as a tool for e- transactions.

infrastructure to create enabling environment for e-
transactions.

empowering Thai people who are not familiar with English
language to be able to access the Internet like others do.
§ ETDA will convene the Thai LGR workshop for the next two
days along with all stakeholders who are experts.
