The document discusses a band's music video, promotional materials, and theories about how pop stars present themselves in music videos. It analyzes the band's video according to Carlsson's three theories of pop star performance: commercial exhibitionist, televised bard, and electronic shaman. The document concludes that the band's video portrays the singer as a commercial exhibitionist who tries to sell himself through performance, sexuality, rebelliousness and youthfulness.

5. We created the magazine advert in attempt to try and promote and sell our band . The idea was to sell the band touring as this how most of the money is made in the modern day. We used a simple colour range of black and white , but to maintain the effect of edginess we used two very vibrant colours blue and pink . This shows rebelliousness as it is going againt the original black and white colour scheme.

8. We felt our video portrayed the main performer as Carlsson described as an commercial exhibitionist. Our singer is putting him self into the music and trying to sell himself in his songs and his music videos. It is all about the element of performance and how he can sell himself through these ideologys of sexual magnetism , rebelliousness and youthfulness
9. The term star refers to the semi-mythological set of meanings constructed around music performers in order to sell the performer to a large and loyal audience. Dyer states that a star is an image, not a real person, constructed (as any other aspect of fiction is) out of a range of materials . (e.g. advertising, magazines, as well as featuring music in films and television). Stars are commodities produced and consumed on the strength of their own meaning.
