3. INTRODUCTION
 Kayu putih / cajuput wood (Melaleuca leucadendra or Melaleuca
cajeputi).
 Grows well especially in eastern Indonesia and northern Australia.
 all of the eucalyptus plant (bark, leaves, twigs, and fruit) was used for
medicine.
 Classification

Ordo : Myrtales
Family : Myrtaceae
Genus Malaleuca
Species : M. Leucadendra or M. cajeputi

 Leaves & Bark : 50% -65% cineol, alpha-terpineol, alpha-
pineria, Carvacrol, Valeraldehyde, Benzaldehyde, Limoncna,
Lignin and melaleucin
 LIGNIN & MELALEUCIN
>> analgesic (relieved the pain)
HOW ? accelerate blood circulation  reducing swelling  ease
pressure on the nerves  relieved pain
>> diaforetic (increased perspiration)
>> desinfectant, expectorant, and antispasmodic
