3. Cinematography
• This is a Marvel studios production.
• Firstly, we see x-ray Radiographic Film with the institutions on it.
• We then see a series of pictures of cells replicating themselves in a green
background. This suggests to the audience that there will be a growth of
some sort.
• Before the title comes up, there is a merging of the image of a skull and
the main character, which suggests to the audience that he is all the past
images are about or related to him.
• The title of the film is then formed from the mist as shown in
the pictures with a light source at the back.

4. Cinematography
• After the title, we first see the main character on a chair in the middle of
the room which suggests that he is alone or feeling loneliness.
• There is then a picture of another main character, probably the person
who cares about the first character shown, as we can see from her face.
There is also a refection of the machine rotating around on the glass that
she is standing behind.
• She is also not in the centre to the shot, but to the side.
• We then see the main character winking at her, maybe to
tell her that it will be all right. However, he is in the
middle of the shot, which suggests that he is more important.
• This is a point of view shot from her point of view.
• Now we see another point of view shot from his point of view this time.
• To him, the machine is beginning to cover his vision, but he sees her as
the most important person, as she is in the middle of the screen. He also
sees her as alone and isolated, and maybe relying on him.
5. Cinematography/Narrative
• Subsequently, we are shown a red button with the word danger on it.
• This indicates that the result of whatever process is happening will not be desirable.
• We then see another point of view shot from him which is showing the machine at work
followed by the image of the light hitting his eyes.
• This is flowed by another image of his eyes, but changed.
• After that, we get another POV shot from after the metamorphosis.
• It then skips to him standing over the over main character, which suggests that he
occasionally has blackouts or doesn’t have control over it.
• This picture shows a soldier holding a gun to him. We can
clearly see his arm reaching out to grab someone.
• All of this is giving away parts of the narrative.
6. Mise en scene
• We get a much better view of the Mise en scene when see the lab in the POV of the
Hulk.

7. Editing/Sound
• There are a lot of POV shots.
• The music is one which would fit with a horror or thriller theme. This is because short
notes which fluctuate pitch quickly.
• When the viewer is in the POV of the Hulk, we hear shouts in a very deep voice, maybe
a bit more like roars!
The typography suggests that
it is on a newspaper.
This is a reference from the iron man
film as Tony Stark (iron man) is the
owner of Stark Industries. This suggests
that the producer is trying to make these
superheroes in the same world. (As
shown in the Avengers (2012))
8. Narrative/Theme
There is a storyline in
the beginning.
The main character
transforms, then
escapes, then isn’t
found.
