L’Oreal USA 1999 - 2007

Vice President – Research & Development Skin Care, Sun Care and
Hygiene (2006 – 2007)
Led a team of 35 people , including the Assistant Vice President of Product Development, the Assistant
Vice President of Clinical Studies, the Director of Apply Research and the Director of Consumer
Evaluation.

          • Head of The Body Shop Laboratories. The originality and the specificity of this brand is
the use of Community Trade Ingredients . Performed tests for evaluating the efficacy
of these ingredients. Developped a worldwide certified Organic line of skincare
                 products
• Formulation of new products for Kiehl’s in all the skin care categories: facial skin care with
a complete Yerba Mate Tea line, body skin care with a limited edition of cleansers and
lotions, expansion of the Men franchise Facial Fuel, new initiatives in the Dermatologist
Solutions with an Over Night Biological Peel and a High Potency Skin Firming
Concentrate. The originality of this brand is mainly the use of natural ingredients that
have been proven to be active.

          • Led the Evaluation of the products launched in the US, to guarantee that the aesthetic of the
                   products would satisfy consumers; worldwide,
          • Successfully set up the clinical studies to support the efficacy claims.
     • Organized a medicalized Spa with the reformulation of Skin Ceuticals to expand the brand
outside of the USA while introducing new technologies in the launch of new products. Since the
oxidation of the cells in the skin is one of the major origins of Skin Aging led successfully a
specific research program with internal and external experts to find out new and original actives
and concepts, starting with the selection of the ingredients through in vitro testing on cells, then
on reconstructed skin and finally on skin

          • Formulation of daily use moisturizers and sunscreens with Mexoryl SX, the new UVA filter,
recently approved by the FDA (La Roche Posay Anthelios SX, L’Oreal Revitalift,
Lancôme UV Expert, Vichy Capital Soleil….). The UVA protection has been a strategic
orientation that has required a significant team work to understand the need for an
optimized protection across the entire UVA and UVB spectrum.
          • Launch of a new peel routine using a unique patented technology, the LHA, for anti-aging
and hyperpigmentation, in order to expand Biomedic in Europe and to renovate the
peelings in the USA. I managed to set up a task-force including teams in several
European countries, in Brazil and in the USA for the screening of the new actives, their
