Textile Storyboard – General Flow of Website
Site Structure (Flow of Site)
If you come upon Textile Company, you will have a splash page which directs you to either Textile Company or
Textile 2 Company. From then on, you will remain in that respective site.
In general, the site should be uniquely Textile Company‐ Textile 2 Company (T2C). T2C needs to show what
makes T2C different from the myriad of competitors.
We are striving to have the design look clean, modern and use the color and texture of the T2C fabrics
throughout the site. Each page should be custom designed to solve the challenge of communicating the content
of each section of the site to the visitor.
The Left will be a description of Textile Company along with samples that Textile Company is renowned for. The
Right will be the story of Textile 2 Company. We will provide content for this page – simple, to‐the‐point and
powerful statements about the organization and why a prospect should consider T2C.
When the visitors click on Textile Company (or Textile 2 Company) , they will be brought to this home page
which will contain content and photos that define the company’s expertise. The photos and fabrics shown are
placeholders only (T2C needs to supply content and photos). When you are in Textile Company or Textile 2
Company, you will stay within their products and content.
The Navigation bar shows History (About Us), Fabrics. What’s New (News & Events), Design Feature, Contact us.
We have been discussing whether “About Us” and “Contact Us” should be here, or at the bottom of the page
(Telephone and e‐address will be at the top of each page). Keep in mind people will enter your site from all
areas, and we need an easy way for them to learn all they can. Folks familiar with Textile Company or Textile 2
Company would go directly to their home page, and not the splash page, whereas new customers would
probably go to the splash page.
You need to remember that visitors may enter from different areas.
The Fabric Page will be the start of the search and the criteria needed (needs to be defined). On the left we
have sample fabric, but we may want to list all the collections which existing customers would know and want to
search. Or we may want that on the right, under the search by pattern.
Fabric Search Results
The Fabric Search Results page would show the result of the search. If one clicks on a swatch here, they would
get the actual fabric, specifications and colorway. Samples can be ordered, and T2C needs to qualify people
before they can get samples. Let them place the quot;orderquot; and, if an existing customer, T2C ships. Otherwise T2C
checks them out and determine if they would be eligible. In either case, a note should be sent to them.
Click on a swatch from Fabric Search Results page and you will get the pattern page, complete with specs and
News & Events
For trade shows, we also suggest you show a floor plan showing where your booth is located.
