3.  New York’s Continuing Legal Education (CLE)
requirements were instituted through the joint efforts
of the bench and the bar to ensure that New York
lawyers uphold the highest professional standards. For
two years after admission to the New York Bar, new
attorneys have to complete 1.5 hours of CLE each
month through an accredited program. The lawyers
can earn these credit hours in a traditional classroom
or through interactive videoconferences and
webcasts. In addition to learning-based credit,
attorneys can earn CLE credits for speaking or
presenting at a CLE Board-accredited program.
Three credit hours are earned per 50-minute
presentation.

accredited CLE programs with live credit
opportunities in New York, as well as
online webcast programs. In upcoming
live seminars delivered by industry
professionals, attorneys can learn about
topics like “Current Legal Ethical Issues”
