    • The Beginning  Southeast Alabama Medical Center’s Foundation provided MCB with the hardware for telemedicine.  Stroke Center  Access to timely Neuro Consult  Emergency Care
    • Process  Equipment  Ensuring connectivity  Education of physicians  Education of staff (presenting patients)  Availability of physicians  Protocols  CT availability
    • Success  Physician acceptance  Nursing education and competency  Ease of transfers  Patient outcomes All have survived and been transferred Not all patients qualify
    • Geri-Psych  Telemedicine is used three days a week  Remote access to psychiatrists in Montgomery  Quiet space  Nurses (RN) present patients  Differences in providers  Differences in patients.
    • Plans for the Future  Rural Clinics  Education for Diabetics  Specialists consulting  Inpatient wound care  Consults to the ED if indicated
