3. Good Features & why they are used;
-Text at the beginning> Used to give an indication on what the film will
be about & because they are statistical it makes them appear more
dramatic
-Faster editing towards the end & music> This is to demonstrate that it is
an action packed film with a lot to offer and to create suspense as
the audience has just been told that Liam Neeson’s character's
daughter has just been abducted. The music matches with on screen
events so when the editing begins to pick up the pace, the music
becomes more piercing and beaty.
-Black Screens> These are used after a shocking statement has been
said so that when the quick flash of the black screen is over
with, Liam Neeson can say something powerful and inspirational.
This also conveys that he is the protagonist of the film.
-The title of the film slams onto the screen> This is done by zooming out
on the text so that the title appears to be moving into the screen. A
sound effect is placed under the text when it is in the right place to
give it a punch and to make an impact on the audince.

5.  There is a clear theme that is common to all of the film posters, here are
some of them;
-Dark Colours e.g. Navy & artificial blues, black> These are used to portray
the genre of the film (thriller/ psychological) as they are cold, dismal
colours. Also it effects the lighting of the images used which means that
some things can’t be seen, creating a sense of mystery.
-Liam Neeson> He is the main character in this film & also he is one of the
main selling points of the film because he is a famous, talented actor who
has a large fan base which encourages them to see the film. He is
wearing a tie-less suit and is holding a gun which shows that he is a ‘007’
kind of man who will act as a dominant male and not allow anyone to
mess him around.
-Institutional Information> This appears at the bottom of the page addressing
who the director, producer etc are. This is important so that everyone gets
recognition for their efforts towards the film & can sometimes be a selling
point if the crew member is well known.
-Quotations> These are the taglines from the film so that people can associate
phrases with it. It is important to add taglines to a film poster so that they
make the film remember-able and can spot them when watching the film.
