In addition to expanded functionality in MySites, Microsoft has added the social communities capability to help teams interact with all of the social community tools they expect on any public platform, such as share documents, leave notes, have threaded discussions, blog, collaborate via wiki, track tasks via a project site, and so forth.
Deeper collaboration with SharePoint is coming, but right now you can push content from SharePoint to Yammer, and MySites have leveraged some of what Yammer has done around MySites. More to come this fall, I’m sure.
